It’s Your Turn – Vote

Well, I have tried to reveal the important issues that face Newburyport now and in the future and I hope that I have helped fully inform the readers of this blog.     I have tried to go way beyond my "opinion" and show through as much documentation information that can be used to make a solid decision when it comes to policy to help decide who should be chosen for elected office.    I plan on redoubling that effort this coming year by attaching references to as many submissions as possible.    This way, if a reader doesn’t agree with me, they can investigate the roots of that opinion and to, "choose wisely" for themselves.

Today, it’s all up to the citizens now.

My number one biggest concern is the turnout right now.       One-way to have disatisfaction with elected officials is to have a tiny minority choose the leaders of our community.       Then as things progress, more and more residents will say, ‘Wait a minute, that’s not what I voted for!’.       Leaders need to know that the majority of the City is behind them when they make important decisions.      It gives them a mandate and it gives them confidence to proceed.

So, if, for any reason; please come out and vote.       I would like to see things move forward and not stagnate because the politicians are unsure of what the voters want.

The next year is going to be a tough ride and we all need people who have a sure grip on the steering wheel!
