Emily McCourt of the Planning Office was kind enough to explain that the conservation restriction refers to a proposed trail that runs behind the DePiero Development and not to the actual trail that runs along the old Wills Lane from State to Brown.
I am glad that it is only a ‘proposed’ trail. Anyone unless it was in summer would have to have hip boots to get through the muck as the water table literally sits on the surface. I know the Conservation Commission has deemed the restricted area as not being wetlands but I would certainly have Essex Greenbelt keep a close eye to make sure such a trail is above the water line.
Unfortunately, this news doesn’t clear up the last ten yards or so of the dirt path that crosses the yard of one of Mr. DePiero’s proposed lots.
