It feels lonely out here in Blogsville.

I have noticed that there is a gradual abandonment of local blog updates.       Here it is, three weeks before the November election, huge issues ongoing in Newburyport and in the Greater Newburyport Area; and there is silence.

It is bad enough that the Daily News doesn’t do investigative reporting.    I have to get bits and pieces of skullduggery from the Current or other local rags and now, yet another political newsletter bites the dust.      Speaking of that, I heard the REAL reason that Jim Roy closed down the Newburyport Liberator, he wishes to be an author.     Apparently, he is tackling this monumental task and he can’t do it and the Nlib at the same time.     Well, I truly wish him all the best but now I haven’t another source to rely on!

One of the things that I noticed when I moved here is the same thing that most people discover when they first live here.    There is the Newburyport with a flurry of activities as mentioned in all the papers and then there is yet another entirely different Newburyport filled with local issues and fascinating individuals.

It often takes many years to finally uncover the hidden City about us.       The blogs have been a great help in doing the unveiling and local rags such as the Port Planet, The Undertoad and the Newburyport Liberator have filled that niche that uncovers the secret world around us.

Believe it or not, even with the absence of these aides, there is ALOT going on around us.

It is just getting harder to reveal it!
