Everytime I see some Dicken’s story about Christmas or see carolers walking about, they set them in a community much like Newburyport. You can’t properly strewn holly or pine boughs without an historic street lantern. You can’t properly show carolers unless you see the magic scenery that our City proudly possesses.
And my, when the cold chill strikes, no one can serve better hot, mulled cider than the shops downtown. I had one recently from Abrahams and the memory of it lingers today. Even the Plum Island Coffee Roasters has a spectacular cup!
Regardless of what shop or restaurant serves best, Newburyport is a real treat which makes our Invitation Nights something not to miss.
Remember what Christmas Present said to old Scrooge? He tells him the spirit of Christmas is alive 365 days of a year. We, who have the blessing of our surroundings know its true here where we get the scenery all year round and hopefully the spirit of Christ to go with it!
