Another “Curse”?

When I was a teenager and living in Haverhill, I would drive by the boarded up Woolworth building at the corner of the bridge. Everyone knows about that building because it is now some forty years and IT IS STILL BOARDED UP!

Sometimes I wonder if a curse has been leveled at that building. Why is it that generations have been unable to find a tenent for that place?

Well, I am starting to feel the same way about the Waterfront. If it’s one thing, it’s another; disappointments and issues that just keep coming preventing the development of this most valued area of our City.

It’s bad enough that John Greenleaf Whittier leveled a curse against Newburyport. Who put the evil-eye on this property?

It’s a wonder that the Lagasse’s and Steve Karp are starting to get that ‘burning sensation’ in their gut that Roger Foster had years ago!

Now we have to fight to break two curses?
