It only took up a little section in the Daily News but indicated something you rarely see. The only other chance you’ll get later is when you’ve layered on clothes or strapped on a snow-mobile suit and you’re peaking out of face scarves and wraps! That is when we have the Eagle Festival in February. A wonderful display of raptors out on the river but also tremendous up close looks at owls and hawks at the Refuge Visitor Center.
I was thrilled one year when the Topsfield Fair had a raptor demonstration show but I was disappointed when it was not present in 2010.
So, at 7:00 on Tuesday night at the visitor center, live owls and hawks will be present for quite a lecture and demonstration. But you must register by calling 978.465.5753 to reserve a spot. They have a great facility there (paid for by our tax dollars and by our purchase of Duck Stamps.) but prior events at the center have been so overwhelming, the place has become unsafe at times.
So, my advice is get on the telephone now!
